Ines Vansteenkiste-Muylle (she/her, born in 1997)has been working on a series where she follows Eddy (they/them, born in 1998) and Nixie (they/them, she/her, born in 1996). They have been parents of Bobby (2021) for more than a year now.

They both grew up in Belgium, and still live there now. Eddy and Nixie first met at a party and studied performance art together, where they became closer. They’re both into cooking and they love dressing up for a performance. For the last few years they have been very domestic and working on inventing themselves and their family constellation. Ines discovered Eddy’s performance art on
Instagram and soon invited them for an editorial she was making about self love. When Eddy was pregnant, they made an editorial with stylist Eveline Briand. Now, with Bobby having turned one year old, Ines visits them again for some documentary pictures of their beautiful, little family.

Eddy describes themselves as an all-round maker who loves to work with mixed media. They have
been drawing since they became a mother, and they’re working on an art installation about the
long process of becoming a mother. “As a parent, I am mostly learning to see the world through
Bobby’s eyes, to trust my intuition instead of following a script, and what it means to provide a
safe place in which Bobby can grow” Nixie loves the body, parallel universes, quantum mechanics, crafts, and has been working extensively with textile in their practices. They’re
currently learning about woodworking. Since graduation and the birth of Bobby, their art practice has been on the back burner, as they spend most of their time and attention caring for their child. “Bobby is very curious, expressive, exploratory, persevering, sweet, funny and joyful.
She is also a Scorpio, Sun Gemini, Moon and Scorpio rising”.
